On a recent visit, on a not very busy evening, we gave the waiter a restaurant card and the chef came out of the kitchen with a copy of the menu which he had annotated to show what he could prepare for us. He was willing to prepare most of the dishes on the menu without gluten. He explained that certain sauces involved mixing flour with bones, so he would not use those stocks - he seemed to understand completely. The presentation was very nice and the food was delicious. There was an excellent cabernet at $6 a glass, which was the low end for the wine list. Dessert was slim pickings for the celiac, but the main courses were plentiful and varied. The vegetarian in the group (not GF, only a vegetarian) had only one choice: a mushroom risotto. TWIST in Wayland Square, Providence. Don't be deceived by the setting- this is an upscale, hip restaurant with an impressive GF menu! Located on the East Side, not far from Brown University & RISD. The restaurant is located in a residential building on the lower level, but once you enter, you'd swear you were in NYC. The staff is knowledgeable and the chef turns out some of the most creative gf food we've ever tasted. Highly recommended!!!

Great restaurant on a marina. The chefs are very helpful and will come to your table to discuss the menu and make adjustments to their dishes. I love the Macadamia nut encrusted Mahi Mahi. The chef makes mine without the breadcrumbs and substitutes the terriyaki vegetables for a GFCF vegetable. If you go there for lunch ask for Laney to be your server as she is the most helpful waitress there.

The soy sauce there does contain wheat. Bring your own soy or fish sauce, and enjoy the sushi. The sushi chef is VERY good at taking care of those with gluten(wheat), soy, and other allergies. Don't even bother waiting for a hibachi table (I've never tried anything off the menu). Just settle yourself at the sushi bar, and watch him work his magic.
